“creativity now is as important as literacy, and we should treat it with the same status.” (sir ken robinson)

18 Oct “creativity now is as important as literacy, and we should treat it with the same status.” (sir ken robinson)

Sir Ken Robinson has had a major influence on the beginnings of manifesto13. His views on creativity and the education system pushed us forward and solidified the importance of creating a place which can give access to creative time and enrichment that our schools in Kuwait do not provide enough of. Creative children might not fit into the box the education system expects them to fit into. Often they are labeled with learning disabilities such as ADD, ADHD, etc.
We have seen, first hand at manifesto13, that providing children with the freedom of exploration and expression and giving them space/TIME to express their opinions is the answer. We see MAGIC unfold in front of us every single time!
In our path, we see ourselves providing free art education to underprivileged children in our community. We will continue working towards creating awareness for the importance of providing children with TIME for imagination, creativity, and exploration.
