This is the first program of it’s kind in Kuwait, catering to visual learners. Collectively, the team members have 12 years of Design Education and over 15 years teaching in the field of Design and Art Education. The course was designed by two Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Alumni and an Educational Expert to meet the needs of Manifesto13’s teen population. Our expertise in Design and Art Education has enabled us to fill the gap in traditional education for our pre-college students. Depending on the number of returning students, the class will be split into two sections. The sections will be taking place simultaneously in the same studio.
In this 30-hour studio course, students will learn to observe, break down and represent the world around them as they experience it firsthand. This course will prepare students who are interested in entering the fields of Design, Engineering or Sciences. Skills gained from this 7-week course aim to create a heightened sense of perception and develop a critical mindset. Students will also learn how to verbally and visually represent their work to the public.
This is an individualized 30-hour studio experience. Our facilitators will customize the curriculum to meet the needs of each student. Returning students will work through skills that need more development, while learning to expand their unique voices and styles through a design project.
Upon request: students may use the studio to work on their pieces outside class hours. This Pre-College Program is taught by doctoral level educators and working professionals. Students will explore the fundamentals of art and design at a level not readily available in high school. This will give students access to professionals from different creative fields which will not only benefit them in their work but will also provide them with more knowledge about different fields of study. The program is designed to challenge ones imagination and encourage creative growth. This is ideal for High School Juniors and Seniors looking to enhance their college admissions portfolio.
Students will receive a complimentary sketchbook and apron upon registration. Students will have access to all art supplies in the studio but may be required to bring a few extras for some specific projects.
Healthy snacks will be provided during class time, however students may bring their own.
Thank you for your time.
